SPORTS COACHES IN SCHOOL

During this half term we are pleased to have gained some additional PE support across the school from a range of School Partnership coaches. Reception have Andy Webb providing some multi skills activities, Year 5 and 6 have Luke from LCC working with them to develop their cricket skills and Year 3 are receiving some super tennis coaching from Jack of Burnley Tennis Club.

The children are all enjoying the sessions and we look forward to welcoming more coaches later in the year into some of the other year groups in school.

TABLE TENNIS CLUSTER COMPETITION - SPIRIT OF SPORT

Wednesday 1st March

Well done to our Year 5 Table Tennis Team who all played really well at the Table Tennis tournament. We have some very talented players who have obviously enjoyed improving their skills at the after school club. It was a real team effort on the night and the two teams from St Johns finished in 5th and 6th positions. Thank you for playing with such enthusiasm and displaying positive sporting values throughout the event.

GIRLS FOOTBALL COMPETITION

TUESDAY 22nd MARCH-  HAMELDON COLLEGE

Well done to our Y5/6 girls  who played at the football tournament last night. The team played brilliantly throughout the event, despite atrocious weather conditions; including hail, thunder and lightening. The girls battled through with grit and determination against some very strong opposition.

Winning all 3 of their games. 3-0, 7-0, 6-0.

Their excellent performance has secured them a place in the next round. Well done girls!
