Science
Science
St John the Baptist RC Primary School is a place of learning in which each individual is encouraged to fulfil their own unique potential. We try always to remember that everyone is special and should be treated with respect. We live in an increasingly scientific age where children need to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to prepare for adult life.
As science stimulates curiosity and thinking skills, through study and practical exploration, its teaching will hopefully stimulate an open and enquiring attitude for future learning.
Our Aims:
- scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the scientific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics
- understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them answer scientific questions about the world around them
- all children are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.
