Hello Year 2,

Well done for your excellent homework last week, everybody did a great job with their SPAG worksheets and column subtraction sums! 

Here is your homework to be completed before next Friday 11th December 2020.

Maths

This week, we have been solving addition and subtraction word problems. Please could you solve the 10 word problems that I sent home with you, using your knowledge of HTO column addition and subtraction sums, on the squared paper provided.

English

We have also been learning about the features of non-chronological reports. Today we learnt facts about emperor penguins to help us write a non-chronological report about them next week. I would like you to read the comprehension about 'Emperor Penguins' that I sent home with you and answer the questions about the text. 

Once you have completed your worksheets, please take a picture of them and put them on the school blog or send them to my email Year2_Home@st-john.lancs.sch.uk so that I can tick you off in my register.

Reading diary book change days are Mondays and Thursdays.

Please make sure you bring your reading diary and book in on BOTH of these days each week, ready for a new book!

We would like you to be reading 2 whole school books a week so that you are practicing your reading and phonics regularly at home.
