Advanced maths questions 18.5.20

ENGLISH

LO: To spell difficult words

Log in to Education City and complete the activity called: Speller Performance.

LO: To use the present perfect verb form

Just before we were sent home from school, we played a game called ‘Present Perfect Tense Bingo!’ I called a sentence out which had a missing verb form. If you had the present perfect verb on your Bingo Board you could cross it off. Very exciting! Who won? Look in the English folder underneath the date folders on the Year 6 website page. There you will be reminded of how to make the present perfect tense and find your work.

Click on the link below to download the Bingo Board (Board 1 is difficult; Board 2 is the easier one) and questions if you would like to play with your family!

HISTORY

LO: To analyse a source of evidence and make inferences

Today you are going to learn about The Siege of Baghdad in 1258. A siege is a military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off food and water, with the aim of making those inside surrender. In other words, the magnificent city of Baghdad was under attack.

Go to the history folder underneath the date folders on the year 6 website page to find out what happened in this dramatic event.

You must read the information and look at the images REALLY CAREFULLY. Then, answer the questions in your exercise book or on a word document. Attach your answers to the blog or email them to me. Today, MOST IMPORTANTLY, you will show me your historical skills by the way you answer the questions. THINK CAREFULLY!
