Tuesday 2nd March

Good morning Year 6!

Well done on yesterday's work all those that blogged and emailed. We enjoyed a great Teams Meeting in the morning! I hope you enjoyed finding out about the amazing Greta Thunberg - you will need these notes today. Maths was really tough yesterday so we will practice solving more measure problems today. You learnt lots of fabulous facts in your geography lesson about the water cycle and what a drought is. What learning have you got today? Come on, get your books and pens out and let's get going...

PE

Today's exercise choices:

1. Go outside for a refreshing walk. (Wasn't the sunshine great yesterday?)

2. Click on the link to Go Noodle and complete 3 of your favourite routines.

3. Have a go at the Bingo Challenge Mr Steele has put on the main Class Page - this looks fun!

READING

Well done everyone who logged in to getepic yesterday - much better Year 6! Our top reader was Kainen who completed 3 books. We need more of you to log in and read tomorrow to start increasing our total towards 400 books.

Aim for 10 - 15 minutes of reading each day and this target is achievable.

Below are your tasks for today. Remember if you need to ask any questions go to the class blog and add a comment to 2-3-21 TODAY'S WORK. Keep checking the comments on this BLOG because that is where we will post our replies to you.

MATHS

LO: To solve metric measure word problems

Today you are going to the White Rose Academy to solve some metric measure problems. We found these really difficult yesterday so we will try again. You will be using 1000g = 1kg and 1000ml = 1l as well as the units of length. Click on the clip and be prepared to answer your teacher's questions. After the clip, click on the White Rose worksheet below to see your task. I have included the answers so you can check your calculations. If you are finding these really tough, click on the easier option below. Remember to blog or email your answers. Good luck everyone!

ENGLISH

LO: To use cohesive devices

Get your Greta Thunberg notes from yesterday, ready to complete today's English task. Read the information and instructions CAREFULLY on the slides below in order to be successful today.

FRENCH

LO: To revise weather phrases

This week we would like you to revise our weather phrases (this will be very useful if we have an assessment to do before Easter!). We do have some more work to do on where we live and places in town, but Mrs Miskell would like to do this next week when we are all back in the classroom.

Task 1 - open the powerpoint named weather revision. The first task is to use the information on the second slide to complete all the weather phrases. Write them into your book and write the English translation next to it.

Task 2 - Study the weather map carefully. Copy the 10 phrases into your book and then based on the map decide whether each phrase is 'vrai ou faux' (true or false). Write vrai or faux next to the phrase.

Task 3 - Again you will need the weather map to help with this task. Use the vocabulary in the tables to help you write 6 sentences about the weather in different parts of the country. There is an example on the powerpoint to help you.

Task 4 - complete the weather quizzes worksheet. Don't worry if you are not able to print this out. You can simply do the wordsearch on the screen to see if you can find the words, and then answer the questions in your book.

There is also a powerpoint below with all the answers to the tasks. Once you have finished you can mark your work.
