Today you are going to learn about subtracting odd and even numbers. Go to the MATHS FOLDER on the Y6 CLASS PAGE and you will see a link to a video. Watch the video first. Once you have watched the video look at the slides underneath. These slides will explain your task. Please do the work in your maths book You can type your answers into the BLOG or send a picture of your book. Don’t try to do them in your head and remember your place value. You must line up your digits correctly. This is the same as yesterday, but we are subtracting big numbers not adding.

ENGLISH

LO: To use spelling skills

You need an adult to help with this task. Turn to page 37 of your purple KS2 Grammar and Punctuation 10 minute test book. This is the unseen spelling test from Set B. Your adult will need to read out the spellings for you from the centre pull-out spelling pages. Your adult or you can mark your answers after you have finished. They are quite tricky but no cheating! Post the score out of 12.

LO: To understand idioms

Go to the Year 6 website page and open the English Folder underneath the date folders.

Use the information and instructions there to complete the task about idioms.

You will also find the answers for your passive voice sentences from Wednesday.

Science – L.O Elements of the periodic table.

The Periodic Table is a fascinating list of over 100 elements. These elements combine to make up everything around us. They can exist on there own or combine together to make a new substance.

Eg The element Zinc is a metal that is used on its own as a coating on screws and nails around your house.

If you combine the elements sodium and chorine you make salt that you put on your chips.

I want you to watch the periodic table song, sing along as loud as you can, then find things around your house made of some of the elements.

In the Science folder on the Year 6 class page you will find some slides with the list of elements I want you to find and the link to the song.
