LO: SPaG
For your English lesson today I would like you to do some more practise using possessive apostrophes and inverted commas.
The first task is to go onto BBC bitesize and watch the video for each of the skills (the links to the webpage are below). Once you have watched the video, read the information and have a go at activity 1. Do this for apostrophes and inverted commas.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zmq9kmn
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z4rbgwx
Once you have completed the activity on BBC bitesize there are two word documents below.
The first word document has sentences that need you to choose the correct apostophe position. Write out the sentences in your exercise book and choose the word with the correct apostrophe position.
The second document has some sentences that have the inverted commas missing. Copy out the sentences into your book and add the inverted commas and any other punctuation needed!
Please blog or email any pictures of your work.

For your music lesson today I would first like you to listen to the Christmas song 'The 12 days of Christmas'. If you click on the link below the video will play, and the lyrics are included so you can sing along!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyEyMjdD2uk
Once you have listened to the song, I would like you to write your own lyrics to the song. Choose a topic you would like to write about, and then think of 12 lines for the song. The line which will replace the 'partridge in a pear tree' will need to rhyme with the word 'me', but all the other lines will just need to fit in time with the music.
Some topics you might choose from are animals, food, foodball, games, gymnastics.
I have chosen to use the zoo as my topic - here is my version up to day 5!
On the fifth day of Christmas
the zoo sent to me:
five gold - fish
four elephants
three lions
two tall giraffes
and a fruit eating chimpanzee!!
I could add more lines of penguins swimming, birds flying, snakes slithering, kangaroos jumping - and I'm sure you can think of lots more ideas!
The video below is just the music with no words so you can sing along with the words you have written. Have fun and be creative with your song words - I would love to hear your songs when you come back to school.
