Thursday 21st January

Good morning Year 6!

I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying your learning. Braidon is our top getepic reader today closely followed by Charlotte and Dylan. These children collectively have added a whopping 16 books to our total which is now 53 books. A massive well done to you three and keep reading everyone else! We all enjoyed an RE Kahoot yesterday and there is an English one to log on to today. If you enjoy art, watch the CBBC Channel Celebrity Art lesson at 10.00 am today. Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs is your supply teacher! Now, let's see what you are going to study...

PE

Today's exercise choices:

1. Go outside for a refreshing walk. (Will it snow today because it definitely did last Thursday where I live!)

2. Click on the link to Go Noodle and complete 3 of your favourite routines.

3. Have a go at the Bingo Challenge Mr Steele has put on the main Class Page - this looks fun!

READING

Make sure you log in to getepic today. Look on our Year 6 blog for a post I put on 8.1.21. It tells you how to get on this website and what your log in is. Click on your initials and start reading a book of your choice. Aim for 10 - 15 minutes of reading each day.

I want to see everybody logged on to this website.

Maths L.O Multiplying decimals by integers

Don’t be put off by this Learning Objective. It sounds complicated but all we are doing is short multiplication. We are multiplying a decimal number by a number between 2 and 8.

We have done this in class just before Christmas, but we didn’t use counters so if the counters confuse you just solve the calculation like we did in class.

Eg 2.31 x 4.

We know that 231 x 4 = 924

2.31 is 100 times small than 231 so we need to divide 924 by 100 to get the answer.

924 ÷100 is 9.24

Therefore 2.31 x 4 = 9.24

Make sure you have your pen and Maths book ready and then click on the video to start the lesson. Once you have watched the video and completed the Let's Learn click on the PDF worksheet.

Please use the BLOG or Email your work.
