St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Awards

Thursday 9th April

Well Year 5, it's the last day of term! I feel so sad that we haven't been together for 3 weeks however at the same time I feel so immensely proud of the way you have continued to be the wonderful learners I know you are. Most of you have kept in touch brilliantly and your work and creativity has amazed me. I definitely have a fabulous class and I am counting down the days until we are back together. Well done to you all and of course to whoever has been helping you at home.

You have a busy last day today! I have set a final battle between boys and girls on TTRS which will end today at 3:15. A lot of you haven't been on this week so I will be monitoring that closely today. Remember to make use of this over the Easter Holidays and any other online programmes. Also don't forget to read!

PLEASE POST YOUR TEST SCORES FROM TODAY ON THE BLOG OR EMAIL THEM TO ME. I AM STILL WAITING FOR SOME MATHS ARITHMETIC FROM TUESDAY!

English

Spelling and Grammar Test

You are going to complete the spelling and grammar test that I have attached below. You will need somebody to help you with the spelling test as they will need to read the spelling out and you will need to write it down.

Then complete the grammar test on your own. PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR SCORE FOR BOTH TESTS.

LO - To look at the events of Easter Sunday

Easter begins on Holy Saturday night with a special Vigil.  ‘To keep vigil’ means to keep watch during the night.  The Church had accompanied Jesus through his suffering and death and now waits to share and celebrate his new life.

All four Gospel writers tell the story of Jesus’ Resurrection on Easter Sunday morning and the empty tomb.  Read the different accounts of the Resurrection story (shown on the slides below) and look at the similarities and the differences.

Then I would like you to design a religious Easter card depicting the Good News of the Risen Christ. Inside the card, include a suitable quote from Scripture and a greeting to share with others. I’m looking forward to seeing them!
