St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Awards

Monday 19th July

Good morning Year 5. Hope you all had a lovely weekend in the sun! Today is our last day of home learning and you can return to school for the last day tomorrow!

Here are your 3 tasks for today:

English
For today’s English lesson you have an important job to do. I would like you to write a letter to your next teachers, Mrs Jones and Mrs Baird, so they know a little bit about you before you move to Year 6. You can write your letter by hand or type it. You can structure it however you like but here are some things you might like to include:

  • Things about you
  • Your greatest achievements this year
  • What your goals are for next year
  • What you find challenging
  • How you work best
  • What you are most looking forward to in Year 6
  • Any questions

Mrs Baird and Mrs Jones are looking forward to reading your letters.

Maths
More mental maths work today! Open up the document and solve the problems. I hope you enjoy the crossword. You can play on TTRS if you finish.

Art/Fun Monday
I know it’s Monday but I thought we would have a Fun Friday style Monday! There are 2 tasks for you to do which I know you will enjoy.

1. Complete the Kahoot quiz by following the link below. It’s a general knowledge quiz!

2. If you click on the link below it will take you to an artist’s page called Darrell Wakelam. He creates so many things out of cheap, everyday materials, mainly scrap cardboard and paper. He’s amazing! If you click on the link below it will take you his page and you can have a look at some easy art projects to try at home using materials from your recycling. Choose one and have a go at making it! I would love to see some pictures.
