PETAL

Peter and Elsa have now been at Ramsgate for a few days. They attempted to set sail to Dover but the wind got up and the sea was too rough so they had to turn back to keep safe.

Wait and Hope had a slight accident on her journey. She got caught on a Sandbank and was stuck in the sand. She had to wait for the next tide and needed the RNLI to rescue her. A very kind man named Josh Rae came to Peter's rescue and got him and Elsa to safe waters.

These are the letters and pictures that the children in Year 2 wrote and designed for Peter and Elsa. These were posted to him and thankfully arrived just in time. As you cant post mail to a boat, we had a 24 hour slot to get these messages to Peter and Elsa to a friend of his in Essex. Luckily, we made it! Peter is thrilled to bits at the kindness of the children and Elsa was loving all the questions the children were asking about her.

Peter and Elsa have now travelled from Grimsby to Skegness - Wainfleet, Wells Next The Sea, Great Yarmouth, Southwold, Brightlingsea, Mersea Island, Burnham on Crouch, Foulness Southend-On-Sea, Queensborough Harbour, Ramsgate.

Morning..! With love from Grimsby..!

Morning..!! The sun is rising here in Bridlington, and we'll soon be on our way..Elsa says a big 'Woof'..!!

They have some special Jet Set Angels with them for their journey and we will be following their journey. Good luck Peter and Elsa. X 😇😇😇

Jet Set Angels had donated an Angel Chess Set to the Petal Ball to be auctioned on the night. This Angel chess set went for a staggering £650 last night and we received another order for one with a pledge of £500 for the PETAL Charity. We were all in shock and were humbled by people's generosity but so proud to be able to support Petal- what an amazing charity!

In March 2016, our friend Tia turned 7 years old. Unfortunately, due to feeling very poorly and being in hospital at the time, Tia didn't get the opportunity to actually celebrate her birthday. 6 months later, Tia's family her a fantastic belated birthday party. PETAL very kindly donated two amazing birthday cakes. The High Sheriff of Lancashire and his wife Danielle came along to help celebrate.

Karen Weaving started Petal Childhood Cancer Research (previously Ribble Valley & White Rose Ladies) some 17 years ago to raise funds specifically for research into childhood cancers on behalf of Cancer Research UK.

In September 2013 Petal, with a committee of seven volunteers, achieved their £1 million milestone and in April 2014 invited His Royal Highness Duke of Gloucester to a celebratory luncheon as Guest of Honour. (The Duke is President of CRUK and an Honorary Member of Petal).
