We are exploring
States Of Matter.
We have been exploring the different characteristics of
solids, liquids and gases.
We decided to investigate
Is sand a solid or a liquid?
Using the microscopes we looked closely at the sand in a lab dish to help develop our understanding.
We came to the conclusion that
sand is a solid.
It has the ability to be poured like a liquid and take the shape of its container. It is still a solid, as each individual grain of sand has a shape of its own and keeps that shape.
We were so fascinated by the microscopes that we decided to look closely at our fingerprints and other solids around us.
