St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Awards

Tuesday 19th May

Good morning Year 4 you are doing some amazing work thank you, keep up the good work! This week, as well as completing your lessons that I set on here, you need to make sure you:

  • Read. What book are you reading at the minute? Have you read any poetry or non-fiction?
  • Play on TT Rockstars
  • Keep in contact with me through the blog or email. This is really important and I love to see what you are doing whilst you are at home.

Only 5 children blogged yesterday, so well done to those that do, however a lot of you are not blogging me, so I don't know if you are doing work. Also well done to the 6 children who went on TT Rockstars yesterday however there are still a lot of children not taking part.

Here are today's task enjoy:

Task 1: English

LO: To understand a text and sentence structure

Today's English lesson you need to read the slide photos below carefully and answers the questions on the last slide and underneath into you exercise books. Don't forget to put the Date and LO. I have written a recount pretending to be a character in a short film I have watched. Lets see if you can guess what the film is about (its is called another dig and on the slide show below). I will upload the video in tomorrow's English task for you to watch! Can you imagine the ANOTHER DIG story in your head while reading?

  1. Do you know what characters are in this short film?
  2. Copy into your book, any clues from the text which help you understand who or what is in this story.
  3. Go back to the text and can you copy into your book: two simple sentences, two compound sentences and at least one complex sentence (find more if you want).
  4.  If this story had a picture to go with it what would it be? Draw this into your book.

Good luck and check out tomorrow's lesson for the actually video it is great! Don't get the hump!

Here is the text if you want to print it out

The PowerPoint (click the link below) has a table to complete, then you need to draw the coins and notes from three of the countries on slide 2. The challenge question is on slide 3 - we would like to see which class has the most children posting a comment on Mrs Miskell's  blog post!
