Good morning Year 2, I hope you are all well and have had a lovely weekend!

Here we are in week 4! You are doing so well with your work and it is to such a brilliant standard, please continue to work hard and do your best!  

Below are your lessons for today. Remember to email your work to Year2_Home@st-john.lancs.sch.uk or put it on our school blog.

Everyday, please find time to log onto www.getepic.com/students using our class code (that was texted to you and it's on our school blog) and click on your initials, to access the books that I am assigning for you to read. I will add more books each week. They can be found in your mailbox! If you have read your assigned books, please feel free to read any of the other age-related books available on the website too. This website is what our school is using to monitor your reading at home, please make sure that you are reading regularly.

Maths

L.O. Solving multiplication and division sums using the 2 times table.

This week, I would like you to practice your 2, 5 and 10 times tables and use this knowledge to solve multiplication and division sums! A good way to learn times tables is to do lots of chanting, practicing your times tables in different accents and with different actions to help! At home, you could write the 2 times table on little cards and place them going up your stairs so you can chant them as you climb too! I'd love to see pictures of the different ways you learning them!

Today, I would like you to log on to Education City, click on 'Homework' and access the work called 'Maths 2x table 25/01'. There is a song to join in with and different multiplication and division activities, challenges and games for you to complete to help you practice your 2 times table. I hope you have fun!

In your home learning pack, please find your CGP KS1 Comprehension Book. Please could you read the comprehensions ‘Get well soon’ on page 6 and ‘A trip to the shop’ on page 7 and answer the questions.

For the second part of this lesson, I would like you to log onto the getepic website and read one of the books that I have assigned you. I am tracking the variety of books and the amount you are reading on my account!
