MATHS L.O Mixed Reasoning Questions

Platoon 3 total was £131.97
Section D Total was £134.82
Section C Total was £196.67
Section E Total was £76.63
TASK A- CHOOSE OPTION 1 OR 2
Every Monday you will have a choice of two activities plus a TTRS BATTLE.
OPTION 1
Do the next test out of your MATHS BOOK 1 SAT BUSTER 10-Minute Tests. Set B Test 1 pg 20. Ask someone to mark it for you, the answers are in the back of the book. Please send me a BLOG telling me how many you got right out of 10. (Try the SET A puzzle- Knitting nightmare if you like.)
OPTION 2
If you are finding the 10min tests too easy then you could do this activity instead. There is a PDF with 10 advanced questions (click below) Answers are also included. Once you have finished ask someone to mark it for you and send me a BLOG telling me how many you got right out of 10.
TASK B – EVERYBODY SHOULD DO THIS
I’ve set up a battle on Times Table Rock Stars. Boys against Girls. It will only last for 1 day and opens at 9.00am so make sure you don’t miss it. I’ll post the winner tomorrow.
Last week the girls won. 3,034 Girls v 2,812 Boys. Only 6 boys and 9 girls did this task. That means 15 children decided they wouldn't do this part of the lesson. Could you please ensure you do this today.
ENGLISH
LO: To spell words with silent letters
Log on to Education City and complete the spelling activities called: Silent Knights.
LO: To use a dictionary
Go to the English folder underneath the date folders on the Year 6 website page.
Write the 8 words and their definitions in your red ruled exercise book, on a word document or on the blog. If you don’t have a dictionary at home, use an online one.
Then, read the Non-Fiction text which all these words are from. It is all about the fantastic inventions created in AD900 Baghdad. We will be using this text again tomorrow and our learning over the next 2 weeks will be based on the Non-Fiction topic of Inventions.
HISTORY
LO: To create a factfile
Your task today is to learn about the important inventions from AD900 Baghdad that still have relevance today. Click on the link below to watch the clip about the top 10 inventions from this amazing time.
Then, go to the History folder underneath the date folders on the Year 6 website page. Read the information there about these significant Islamic inventions: algebra, the camera obscura and coffee.
Your task is to choose one of these inventions and then complete the Significant Islamic Invention Factfile shown on the last slide of the power point. You may need to carry out more research on your chosen invention. Copy this document into your red exercise book and complete the details or create your own word document to complete this task. Attach your work to today’s blog or email your word document to me.
