Awards

Wednesday 6th January

Good morning Year 6!

Welcome to our first day of online learning in the year 2021! I hope you are all up early and eager to start your work today. We are poised at the computer ready to read your blogs and emails and to enjoy your fabulous work. Well done to those children who completed isolation work yesterday as you have made a great start already.

PE

Don't forget to exercise each day by going for a refreshing walk outside or by logging in to Joe Wicks which starts next week on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Or you could even log in to Go Noodle and have a go at the exciting dance routines there.

READING

Reading is also MASSIVELY important for children so continue to read your school book or a children's book from home. Or you could read BBC Newsround online where there are lots of excellent news articles. Aim for 10 - 15 minutes of reading every day. Note your comments down in your reading diary.

Good luck with all your learning! Let's get going with today's 3 activities...

Below are your tasks for today. Remember if you need to ask any questions go to the class blog and add a comment to 6-1-21 TODAY'S WORK. Keep checking the comments on this BLOG because that is where we will post our replies to you.

ENGLISH

Today you have a comprehension activity to complete. As we have a Geography topic this half-term and we are going to be travelling to different places, you are going to read a fabulous text all about Space Tourism. Ever fancied going on holiday to Mars? Click on the link below which will open an interesting text all about this subject for you to read. (The text will open straight away). Then there are a set of questions to answer. (Click on '2' for the questions. I have included the answers for you to mark your work when you have finished ONLY IF YOU WANT TO because they are quite tricky to follow. NO CHEATING)! There are 3 different ways of sending your answers to me. You can choose whichever is easiest for you.

1. Type your answers to the questions straight onto TODAY'S blog post. (6.1.21)

2. Write your answers into your lined exercise book, take a photo of your work then upload it to today's blog post or email it to me.

3. Print out the questions, answer them on that sheet, take a photo of your work then upload it to today's blog post or email it to me.

ALL YOUR ENGLISH WORK WILL BE SET BY MRS JONES. IF YOU WANT TO EMAIL YOUR ENGLISH WORK USE THIS EMAIL ADDRESS:
