Maths:

LO: To use tables.

 

 

Today we are looking at tables and using them to represent data.  You need to follow the video below, pausing it when you are asked to do a question. Then you need to complete the worksheet I have attached below.

English:

LO: To write appropriate captions.

One of the other features of a non-chronological report is that pictures always have captions underneath them. These are short sentences that describe the picture. As non-chronological reports are all about facts, no opinions, you have to be careful with the adjectives you use. For example, you couldn’t write ‘A beautiful dog’ underneath a picture of a dog, as the word beautiful is my opinion.

Have a look at the power point I have attached below. Put it in presentation mode to find out the best captions.

Today I would like you to look at the pictures I have attached below and write a caption for each picture. If you have a printer, you can print them out and stick them into your book, writing a caption underneath. If you don’t, you can simply write the captions into your books or try and draw the pictures! Or you can write the captions onto the word document and then send it to me.
