Good Morning Year 6!
Hello everyone and welcome to the second half of the Summer Term.
We hope you had a lovely break from on-line learning over the holiday week and managed to enjoy some of the beautiful sunshine. Who saw the American SpaceX rocket launch on Saturday night? It was incredible! Just think, by the time you read this the two astronauts will have docked onto the International Space Station. I wonder if Jamie Drake's dad is back there...
Anyway, let's get going with today's learning. Sharpen those pencils, get your books out and switch your brains on!
Below are your tasks for today. Remember if you need to ask any questions go to the class blog and add a comment to 1-6-20 TODAY'S WORK. Keep checking the comments on this BLOG because that is where we will post our replies to you.
ASSEMBLY
Let's start the half-term in the best way, by listening to a Monday morning assembly. Click on the link below to listen.
PE
For this week's PE Lessons, I want to either re-visit Joe Wicks or choose 3 Go Noodles to complete. Let me know what you choose and how you get on!

TASK A- CHOOSE OPTION 1 OR 2
Every Monday you will have a choice of two activities plus a TTRS BATTLE.

Do the next test out of your MATHS BOOK 1 SAT BUSTER 10-Minute Tests. Set B Test 3 pg 26. Ask someone to mark it for you, the answers are in the back of the book. Please send me a BLOG telling me how many you got right out of 10.
OPTION 2
If you are finding the 10min tests too easy then you could do this activity instead. There is a PDF with 10 advanced questions (click below) Answers are also included. Once you have finished ask someone to mark it for you and send me a BLOG telling me how many you got right out of 10.
TASK B – EVERYBODY SHOULD DO THIS
I’ve set up a battle on Times Table Rock Stars. Boys against Girls. It will only last for 1 day and opens at 9.00am so make sure you don’t miss it.
ENGLISH
For this half-term’s work, we have an American theme. We will be visiting North, Central and South America in our English and foundation subject lessons.
Our English work for the next 2 weeks is based around a film-clip called ‘Francis Brandywine’.
When you have watched the FIRST MINUTE ONLY of this clip, go to the English folder underneath the date folders on the Year 6 website page to find your 2 tasks for today. Enjoy!
GEOGRAPHY
LO: To locate South America on the map and name its countries
This half-term we are going to concentrate on the subject of Geography for our humanities learning. Go to the Geography folder underneath the date folders on the Year 6 website page to find the information and task for this week.
Click below to find a copy of the South America map, which you may want to print off to complete your work.

For a fun online South America map game, click on the link below. Start with the first game, which is called 'countries, easy'. How long will it take you to fit all the countries into the correct place on the South American map? Blog your time so we can see who is the fastest!
