St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Thursday 14th January

Good morning Year 2, I hope you are all ok!

Thank you for working so hard with your tasks. I know that it's a challenging time for everyone, so I appreciate you doing what you can and trying your best. heart The work that you are sending in is fabulous, your maths being very impressive in particular! I am in school everyday with our keyworker children and they are working extremely hard too! We are making a home school display in class and I am filling it with pictures of the brilliant work you are sending in and the work we are doing in school. I will take a picture soon to show you all! laugh Look after yourselves and each other.

Remember to log onto using our class code (that was texted to you and it's on our school blog) and click on your initials, to access the 2 books that I have assigned for you to read this week. If you have read them, please feel free to read any of the other age-related books available on the website too. This website is what our school is using to monitor your reading at home, please make sure that you are reading regularly.

Below are your lessons for today. Remember to email your work to or put it on our school blog.

L.O. 5 times tables

Please watch the learn screen below.

Then, I would like you to answer the questions from the worksheets. Please ONLY write the answers to the worksheets, you DO NOT need to copy out the questions. If you wish to print them, that is also fine.

L.O. To answer questions from a text.

Please listen to the video on the school videos section of our website (Under Children, School Videos, Videos for Year 2 2020-2021) where I will read you Chapter 5 of the book. It was too big of a file to put below. sad

Then put the date and L.O. into your lined book. Please answer the following questions about the chapter in full sentences. Try to use your knowledge from the chapter to support your answers.

1. Why do you think Mr Barn Owl told Plop he was still asleep?

2. Why did Plop think the young lady was Father Christmas?

3. Why did Plop have to keep very still for the young lady?

4. Why did the young lady say badgers had funny faces?

5. Plop thought that the hedgehog had feathers. What do hedgehogs have to protect themselves?

6. Why did the hedgehog stop and roll itself into a ball?

7. What does the young lady ask Plop to do before he leaves?

8. How does Plop feel about the dark at the end of Chapter 5?

L.O. To know why exercise is important.

Please could you read the power point below. Then I would like you to create me a poster explaining reasons why it is important to exercise. Please draw diagrams to support your facts.
