St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Awards

Thursday 15th July

Good morning Year 5. I can’t believe it’s Thursday already. Today is Prize Day and I’m so pleased that you can still join in! Mrs McKeating has sent a zoom link to your parents or carers so please try and zoom in! I can’t wait to see some of you!

Here are your 3 tasks for today.

English
This week in English your lessons will be based on the book Demon Dentist by David Walliams. Click on the link below to complete lesson four.

Maths
Today’s Maths starts off easy (and I mean SUPER easy) and gets harder as the worksheet goes along. There are lots of mixed mental questions and you should be able to answer most of them. I have also uploaded the answer sheet for you to mark your work once you have finished.

French
For our final lesson on the Euros there are two tasks to complete.

Task 1 - To create a fantasy football team using French footballing vocabulary.

We would like you to create a fantasy football team of 11 players using the word document below to help you. Your Team should have 1 goal keeper, but you can decide how many defenders, midfielders and strikers you include in your team. The word document has all the vocabulary you will need, and an example of what you need to do. Your finished team will be a list of all the positions, the name of the player and the reason you have chosen them. Remember you can use google translate to help you if there is any vocabulary not included on the help sheet!

Task 2 - To revise country names and colours in French.

The second word document below shows pictures of all the flags of the countries that played in the group stages of the Euro 2020 tournament. Your task is to use the colour key to colour all the flags - colour by numbers!

The colour key is at the bottom of the first page.

(fonce = dark, clair = light).

If you have a printer then you can print out and colour, otherwise choose 8 of the flags to draw in your book, label them with the correct French name for the country and colour it using the colour key.

Remember to email pictures of your work - we would love to see your fantasy football teams!
