Task 1
Maths - Making 14
Click on the link - Subitising to 10.
Get 10 small objects and drop them on the floor. Close your eyes and your adult will take some. You look and see how many are left? Subitise, use your eyes and your brain.
Repeat the activity 5 times.
How Many? Did you subitise?
Now lets make 14 using a part whole model.
Draw a part whole model in your book or on your whiteboard. Remember 14 goes in the whole (top) circle. 14 is the whole number. Get 14 counters/objects and split them up into two groups (part part).
What two numbers make 14?
Task 2
Phonics - Revise the oo (long) sound.
Watch the video - CVC words with i.
Sorting the oo words into two groups.
oo - long | oo - short (u) |
After you have sorted the oo words, play matching pairs with the words.
Task 3
RE, PSED, C & L and EAD - Celebrations
Valentine's Day 14th February.
Watch the video - The story of St Valentine.
Following on from yesterday's lesson on Kandinsky's circles. I would like you to do the same but with love hearts.
Fold the paper in half and then fold it again, so you have 4 rectangles.
Then start with a small heart in the middle of one rectangle and get bigger and bigger.
Here is a picture of 9 hearts.
Remember you can use crayons, coloured pencils, felt tips, chalk, paint and play dough.
Yesterday's circle work was brilliant. I am going to print your work off and put them up on display in the classroom. So, don't forget to send your photos.
You might want to keep and use your circle and heart work for tomorrow's activity.
