St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Primary School Love One Another

Awards

Year 2 Art and Design and Technology

Summer 2

A big thank you to all the parents who helped their child create a fruit and vegetable creature.  All the staff and children at St. John's school were astounded at the high quality of work.  Take a look at the gallery below to see them.  The children all voted for a boy and a girl for the winning model and the children in Reception also had a vote.

Congratulations go to Tegan and Loui whose fruit and vegetable designs were chosen by all the children from Year 2 and Reception.  Tegan made a fabulous and very creative 'Melonsharkasaurus' out of a water melon and Loui named his creation 'The Undertaker'! Loui made the biggest model and it could have fed all the class with the amount of fruit and vegetables it used.

Spring 2

We have been studying the work of a modern artist, Sir Terry Frost, (1915-2003).  We have made our own work by Terry Frost.  Take a look at the photos below. However, the display isn't quite finished yet.  We are going to make it even more 'abstract'!

Click on the link to see the photos of the Terry Frost art work that was kindly loaned to us by Mr Tony Hartley of Stoops Gallery.

Year 2's art based on the work by Terry Frost.

We have been very busy creating African sunset images and African animal and tribal masks.  We have used different mediums to create these such as oil pastels, paints and ICT software.
