Monday 18th May

Good Morning Year 6!

Welcome to your week of online learning. Your work last week was excellent! You completed some difficult English and Maths work and enjoyed some fun science and DT activities. Did you find your work on the WAGOLL? Let's carry on the good work this week. Remember to always try your best. What's on the timetable for today? Let's have a look...

Below are your tasks for today. Remember if you need to ask any questions go to the class blog and add a comment to 18-5-20 TODAY'S WORK. Keep checking the comments on this BLOG because that is where we will post our replies to you.

This week in PE, it is Go Noodle week. It’s going to be a lot of fun! Today I want you to access Noodle TV. Choose 3 activities to do. I suggest: Bye, Bye, Bye; Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and U Touch This. Click on the link below and enjoy! Let me know which you choose and how you get on!

MATHS L.O Mixed Reasoning Questions

Every Monday you will have a choice of two activities plus a TTRS BATTLE.

Do the next test out of your MATHS BOOK 1 SAT BUSTER 10-Minute Tests. Set B Test 2 pg 23. Ask someone to mark it for you, the answers are in the back of the book. Please send me a BLOG telling me how many you got right out of 10.

If you are finding the 10min tests too easy then you could do this activity instead. There is a PDF with 10 advanced questions (click below) Answers are also included. Once you have finished ask someone to mark it for you and send me a BLOG telling me how many you got right out of 10.

I’ve  set up a battle on Times Table Rock Stars. Boys against Girls. It will only last for 1 day and opens at 9.00am so make sure you don’t miss it.

Advanced maths questions 18.5.20

LO: To spell difficult words

Log in to Education City and complete the activity called: Speller Performance.

LO: To use the present perfect verb form

Just before we were sent home from school, we played a game called ‘Present Perfect Tense Bingo!’ I called a sentence out which had a missing verb form. If you had the present perfect verb on your Bingo Board you could cross it off. Very exciting! Who won? Look in the English folder underneath the date folders on the Year 6 website page. There you will be reminded of how to make the present perfect tense and find your work.

Click on the link below to download the Bingo Board (Board 1 is difficult; Board 2 is the easier one) and questions if you would like to play with your family!

LO: To analyse a source of evidence and make inferences

Today you are going to learn about The Siege of Baghdad in 1258. A siege is a military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off food and water, with the aim of making those inside surrender. In other words, the magnificent city of Baghdad was under attack.

Go to the history folder underneath the date folders on the year 6 website page to find out what happened in this dramatic event.

You must read the information and look at the images REALLY CAREFULLY. Then, answer the questions in your exercise book or on a word document. Attach your answers to the blog or email them to me. Today, MOST IMPORTANTLY, you will show me your historical skills by the way you answer the questions. THINK CAREFULLY!
