SPACE WEEK - FEBRUARY 2014

Monday 10th February 2014

What an exciting start to Space Week at St. John's School. The standard of Space projects was so high from each and every class.

This morning, KS2 exhibited their work to KS1 and then this afternoon, KS1 and EYFS showed their work to KS2. Everyone could speak in detail about their projects and the staff were impressed with the knowledge the children have already gained through doing their project. Both children (and staff) learnt something new today. We are all so proud of the hard work from the children and their families. Thank you.

Tuesday 11th February 2014

The Space Dome arrived and took over the Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Each class got an hour long session inside. Guess what? It was like a T.A.R.D.I.S.! It was definitely BIGGER on the inside! It was tricky to take photos inside due to the lighting but we had a go.

Wednesday 12th February

Thank you to all the parents who came to have a look around the school on Wednesday afternoon. We hope you were as impressed by the high standard of work as we were. Thank you for helping make weeks like this possible.

Thursday 13th February

A massive 'well done' to all the children and families who had a part in our space projects. We were amazed at the outstanding pieces of work that were brought in. Thank you. 2 children were chosen from each class to receive a prize; one for the best model / project and the other for the best information. All the teachers and staff found this a very difficult task due to the high standard of work. Congratulations to our worthy winners and again, well done to everyone else who took part.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today, Year 2 will be performing their 2nd class assembly of the school year. Due to the theme of the week being about Space, the theme of their assembly will be Space. What a lovely way to end a fantastic week.
