Magic of Disney Theme Week October 2025
This week we have celebrated the magic of Disney.
'All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them'
As a school and in our Year 5 class, we have celebrated the magic of Disney through many lessons and activities. Each day has been fulfilled with imagination and magical moments.
On Wednesday, we celebrated the music of Disney with a whole school hymns assembly. Our favourite Disney song that we all voted for was 'I always wanted a brother' from the film Mufasa'. We have sang this song everyday this week!
After hymns we participated in a Disney Zumba with our instructor Jessica, we joined in with Year 4 and thoroughly enjoyed moving to the music and increasing our heart rates.
We also wore our Disney ears for this event.
On Tuesday, we participated in a Disney Emoji Quiz and attempted to draw Donald Duck by following the instructions from Brian James Fitchner an animation Academy Artist from Hollywood Studios.
In our Maths lessons we helped Donald Duck solve his maths puzzles and worked together as a team to multiply and divide 5 digits by 10, 100 and thousands.
On Monday, we began our week creating free verse poetry based on our favourite Disney characters and how personification can be used to support our imagination.
In Art we began designing our own Mickey Mouse ears, everyone in year 5 received a pair of ears from Miss Armstrong and we began creating spectacular glittery ears. At the end of the day our classroom was sparkling!
