Ribchester Roman Museum

Year 3 had a wonderful trip to Ribchester Roman Museum after learning all about the Romans this half term! We sat through an introductory talk about the Roman way of life and looked at various Roman artefacts. We then tried on Roman armour and helmets, and not to mention getting to hold a gladius and shield! A little later, we visited the Roman granary ruins and talked about what it would have been used for. In the afternoon, we enjoyed exploring the museum and admiring more Roman artefacts, followed by a trip down the road to see the Roman bath ruins! We loved learning about the baths and using the maps to imagine what the rooms would have looked like. To finish our trip and as a treat for excellent behaviour, we had great fun on Ribchester park and playing with our friends. Year 3 made all of the staff very proud and were commented on as ‘one of the best classes to visit the museum for their Roman knowledge!’
