Year 3/4 Cross Country Success!
Well done to all of our Year 3 and 4 children who proudly represented our school at the Cross Country event on Tuesday 12th May at Towneley Park.
The children showed fantastic enthusiasm, determination and resilience as they took on the 1km–1.5km course.
Events like this provide a brilliant opportunity for children to compete in a more formal environment while developing important life skills such as perseverance, confidence and teamwork. Most importantly, they help to promote healthy, active lifestyles and a love of physical activity.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part – you represented our school brilliantly!
On Wednesday 6th May, a fantastic group of our Year 5 and 6 pupils proudly represented our school at the T1 Rugby Competition held at Prairie Sports Village. The event ran from 9.30am to 12.00pm and brought together teams from across the area for an exciting morning of competitive matches.
Our pupils demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. After taking part in earlier rugby practice sessions this term, the children showed just how much they had learned, applying their skills confidently in game situations. Following the initial group stages, teams were re-grouped into similar ability pools, allowing every player to continue competing and developing their abilities.
More importantly, the event gave our children the chance to grow beyond the pitch—building confidence, resilience, and communication skills while supporting one another every step of the way. It was wonderful to see such positive attitudes and enthusiasm for sport.
We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part. They were excellent ambassadors for the school and truly embraced the opportunity to learn, develop, and enjoy physical activity.
Well done, everyone! 🏉👏
Well done to all of our fantastic children who represented the school at the Walking Festival on Tuesday 28th April at Rowley/Brun Valley Forest! It was a brilliant afternoon filled with adventure, teamwork and lots of smiles.
The children followed a map around the forest, visiting a range of exciting outdoor activity stations. From soft archery and mini raft building to den building and rope pull challenges, everyone showed great enthusiasm and determination. The duck hunt, night line, and team-building activities tested both their physical skills and their ability to work together—and they rose to the challenge superbly!
It was wonderful to see children building confidence, supporting one another and enjoying the many benefits of being active outdoors. The event truly helped develop both social connections and important life skills, all while having fun in nature.
A big thank you to the families who came along to support and take part—it was lovely to see everyone getting involved and making special memories together.
We are very proud of you all—what a great example of teamwork, resilience, and positivity! 👏🌿
