  • St John’s Sports Leaders

    Wed 23 Sep 2026

We are delighted to celebrate the children who have been selected as our St John’s Sports Leaders for this year!

Our Sports Leaders have shown enthusiasm, responsibility and a passion for physical activity. Throughout the year, they will play an important role in promoting healthy, active lifestyles across the school. They will help to organise and lead games during breaktimes and lunchtimes, support sporting events and encourage all pupils to get involved and enjoy being active.

Being chosen as a Sports Leader is a fantastic achievement, and we are very proud of the commitment these children have already shown. We look forward to seeing them develop their leadership skills, build confidence and inspire others through their positive example.

Congratulations to all of our new Sports Leaders. We know they will do an excellent job helping to make physical activity fun, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone at St John’s! 🏅🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Wed 23 Sep 2026 Mr Steele

Well done to the Year 1 and Year 2 children who proudly represented our school at the Fun Run at Towneley Park. The children showed fantastic enthusiasm, determination and resilience as they completed the course, giving their very best effort from start to finish.

It was wonderful to see our pupils demonstrating excellent sportsmanship, encouraging one another and representing the school so positively throughout the event. We are incredibly proud of every child who took part and would like to thank the families who came along to support them.

Congratulations to all of our runners!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⭐

  • Celebrating International Dot Day

Tue 15 Sep 2026 Miss Armstrong

    🎨 International Dot Day 2026 ❤️

To celebrate International Dot Day, every child from Nursery to Year 6 created their own unique dot, using different colours, patterns and creative ideas.

Our celebration was based on Peter H. Reynolds’ acclaimed children’s book The Dot, which encourages children to “make their mark”, have confidence in their creativity and see where it takes them.

We brought every individual dot together to create one beautiful whole-school heart, symbolising that although every child is unique, together our children are the heart of St John’s.

A wonderful celebration of creativity, individuality and belonging, reflecting our school mission to “Love One Another.” ❤️

Well done to everyone at St Johns
