Our EYFS children had a busy afternoon brightening up our Outdoor Area. We trimmed back the spring bulbs, re-planted the large planter with bedding plants and then added more summer colour with new troughs and recycled welly planters! Great Teamwork by our youngest gardeners!
Year 3 had an amazing time traveling on the train to Colne Leisure Centre. They enjoyed a fun swim session with lots of games and races! After, we walked to Alkincoats park where we had our lunch and played on the park before leaving and catching the train back to Hapton! See all the pictures on the Year 3 class page! The children were amazing and represented St Johns extremely well.
On Friday, all our Y6 children along with Mrs Baird, Mrs Jones, Mr Steele, Miss Armstrong, Miss Earnshaw and Mrs Townley went to Borwick Hall. The children were fabulous and we had so much fun. A big thank you to parents and staff who enabled these memories to be made.

In the Spring Term, all the children in school were inspired by our engineer visitor, Ben Kenny, and took part in Primary Engineering's competition: 'If you were an engineer, what would you do?'
The children had to think of a solution to a problem and design an invention. We had some fantastic entries.
All the entries were sent off and judged by real life engineers. Every one has received a grading and will be presented with a certificate on Monday in assembly.
On Wednesday 5th June, Jemima and Matilda from Reception were presented with an award for their entries. Matilda won Highly Commended and Jemima was the overall winner for Reception. Well done girls we are really proud of you.
