LATEST NEWS!
The last half term has been a very busy term with lots of sporting events, competition and trips taking place. Firstly, well done to our Y6 who finished their SATs, we are so proud of their effort and determination. We are now looking forward to our weekend at Borwick Hall in June.
This week we had lots of fantastic news.
We announced the winners of our garden competition. They were a beautiful tribute to Mary. The entries are now in church for the parishioners to enjoy. Well done to our winners: Lucy, Archie, Colby and Lily-Ray.
A few weeks ago, children from all classes entered an engineering competition. Over 10000 children entered. On Thursday we received the news that Jemima in Reception had won first place in her age group. To add to that amazing results, Matilda in Reception was awarded 2nd place. Congratulations to both girls.
Ayda-Rose in Y6 was awarded the class winner of the Rotary competition. When the Rotary came with her amazing prize on Friday, we also found out she was the overall winner out of all the schools who entered. Well done Ayda-Rose.
The final of the BFC maths competition was on Friday and all our teams who entered got through to the final. They had a wonderful day at Turf Moor and our Year 2 team won their final. Another great result.
So as you can see, it’s been a great half term for St John’s. We hope you all have a lovely half term and let’s hope the sun shines as brightly as our children .
Mrs McKeating and Miss Armstrong are spending their half term teaching in Africa. You can follow their work on the Mission Possible Facebook page.
Thank you to all our parents for your continued support.
Thank you so much to everybody who took the time to enter our whole school competition to make a beautiful flower garden for Mary in May. We were overwhelmed with the amount of amazing and creative gardens! Congratulations to our overall winners Archie, Lily-Ray, Colby and Lucy! Thank you to Mrs Schofield and Mrs Bracken for the difficult task of judging. Please see 'The Religious Life of our School' page on our school website for photos of all the wonderful entries!
